SUP - Caring for your Paddle

Paddles do incur natural wear and tear and breakdown of materials over time. Taking care of your paddle will significantly extend its life. Here are a few steps you can take to extend the life of your paddle.

Practice good technique. Avoid repeatedly striking things such as gunnels, rails, rocks, and coral heads and avoid falling on your paddle.
Avoid leaving your paddle in a hot car or similar hot environment for prolonged periods of time.
Seal any exposed wood with polyurethane. • If possible keep your paddle in a paddle bag. KIALOA offers a variety of bags and blade covers that help protect paddles from heat and sun exposure as well as unexpected dings.
Rinse all parts of your paddle in fresh water after use in salt water
